Opportunity

The anticipated Ethiopia electronic Health Information Systems (Ethiopia e-HIS) will support the Government of Ethiopia to improve the quality of health services, quality of life, and to create a sustainable health care system through the use of data for decision making. The project will support information technology systems and data repository, build a culture of data use, capacity building and governance, and strengthen stakeholders and donors collaboration.

To support this activity, we are looking for a creative graphics designer with up-to-date knowledge to interpret project needs into sustainable design solutions with visual impact. She will work on various aspects of this project, including websites, product packaging, demos, branding, etc in collaboration with the Chief of Party.

Minimum Qualifications:

The proposed graphics designer must be able to do the following:

  • Be able to accurately and complete record project requirements, and maintain clear records of changes

  • Schedule project implementation and define constraints

  • Work with a wide range of media and graphic design software

  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts

  • Plan and complete visual information projects, publications and visual presentations

  • Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas

  • Create, produce, and present dynamic graphics and animated imagery onto slides, files and hard copy within tight deadlines

  • Complete complex assignments for a wide variety of graphics projects to include: computer based multimedia productions incorporating computer controlled source material from graphic, photo, audio and video projection.

  • Provide technical advice on advantages and disadvantages of various formats, types of presentations, styles, media, and methods of reproduction, suggesting those that will best meet the mission’s informational objectives.

  • Develop a widespread database of visual information, including in-house generated computer graphics and subject matter information, storage and manipulation of digital images, slides, animation and text.

  • Work as part of the steam with copywriters, programmers, etc.

The proposed programmer must meet the following criteria:

  • Proven graphic design experience

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio

  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, Pixelmator, Motion, etc)

  • Highly proficient in all design aspects

  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines

  • Ability to create dynamic images in a tight deadline environment.

  • Strong organizational proficiencies and the ability to manage multiple projects in different phases of development at the same time.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ethiopian national preferred
